KCRAR statements were sent to all Brokers in early February. Some of those statements included a list of agents who have chosen not to renew their membership in KCRAR for 2004.
In accordance with KCRAR and NAR Bylaws, those agents are now considered "non-member licensees,” and broker dues are increased by the amount indicated on the statement for each of them. Please review the following options for accounting for each non-member licensee:
-
Encourage your agent to re-join KCRAR by February 29, 2004. They'll need to reapply as a new member, pay 2004 dues, plus application fees of $105. If this option is chosen, the agent's non-member assessment will be removed from your broker statement, OR ...
-
Return the agent's license to the Real Estate Commission and send appropriate verification to KCRAR by February 29, OR ...
-
Pay the non-member assessment by February 29. This will remove the outstanding assessment from your broker statement, but the agent will not be a member of KCRAR.
Brokers who have any questions regarding the above "dues formula", as established by the National Association of REALTORS®, should contact our Membership Department.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
