The KCRAR Workforce Housing Opportunity program has won recognition and awards from all over the country. Other associations are licensing it, the KC Housing Choices Coalition has awarded it, and the National Association of REALTORS® has named it the National Housing Opportunity Program of the Month – twice!
So what are you waiting for? Get involved starting next month!
To earn your Workforce Housing Specialist Certification, start by taking “Housing for America’s Workforce Part I – Financing” on July 21. This 3-hour CE class will start you on your way to understanding the growing niche of moderate-income working families. As a REALTOR®, you are in a unique position to participate in effective solutions to help those whose housing needs have been underserved and you’ll simultaneously increase your sales.
This class, taught by Sandra Goodwin, Director of Fannie Mae in Kansas City, will help you learn about the challenges for the typical family to locate financing and appropriate housing. You’ll also learn what resources and opportunities are available in our area, including the financing programs for moderate-income families. The class will be:
- Friday, July 21, 2006
- 9:00 am – noon
- KCRAR Classroom
- 3 hours elective CE for KS & MO

Then join the 300 KCRAR members who have earned the WHS certification by also completing “Housing for America’s Workforce Part II - Marketing” on August 11. This is the second half of the required course work for the certification, and you’ll learn how to use www.kchomeprograms.com to research the constantly changing and growing world of unique housing assistance programs and neighborhood initiatives. You’ll learn how to promote your new certification and build your business. Passing a short exam at the end is required. This class will be:
