Thursday, Feb. 25 KCRAR and Harvesters have teamed up for an afternoon of volunteering! Please join us on Thursday, Feb. 25, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Harvesters Volunteer Outreach Center at 3801 Topping Ave., Kansas City, MO 64129. This volunteering event is hosted by the Show Me Region.
The Volunteer Outreach Center is a great place to make a difference in someone's life. Our assignment will be given to us that afternoon based on their need. We may be packing backpacks, repackaging food or organizing the pantry shelves. No muscles needed! Please make a reservation online here or e-mail jenniferd@kcrar.com. We want to know how many will be coming so we can give a head count of our volunteers to Harvesters by Tuesday, Feb. 23.
Harvesters encourages volunteers to wear casual clothing (jeans, shorts, t-shirts). Open-toed shoes (including flip flops and sandals) are not allowed. While the center is heated and cooled, it is a warehouse environment that is not as warm or cool as a typical office or home. We suggest dressing in layers this time of year!
See the registration flier here. And feel free to bring a non-perishable food donation when you come to volunteer!
