Congratulations to KCRAR staff member Cindy Green, who recently earned the REALTOR® Certified Association Executive (RCE) designation. The RCE designation exemplifies goal-oriented Association Executives with drive, experience and commitment to professional growth. It is the only professional designation designed specifically for REALTOR® association executives.
Cindy is KCRAR’s Vice President for Kansas Government Affairs. She has served on the KCRAR staff since 2007.
Cindy earned the designation by accumulating points through experience and education and passing a comprehensive written exam. In so doing, she demonstrated her commitment to the field of REALTOR® association management and joined an exclusive group of accomplished AE’s from across the country.
“Studying and earning my RCE provided me a great opportunity to learn more about the Association and MLS, rather than just the Government Affairs side,” Cindy said. “With my expanded knowledge, I can bring a broader range of information into my position in Government Affairs.”
KCRAR/MLS CEO Diane Ruggiero, Senior Vice President Perry Crume, Membership Manager Tricia Grace and Professional Standards Manager/Executive Assistant Debbie Strange also hold the RCE designation. Diane was instrumental in founding the designation program several years ago.
"The REALTOR Association Certified Executive (RCE) is the only professional designation designed specifically for REALTOR® association executives. KCRAR leads the nation with five RCE’s on its staff," Diane said. "It’s an honor and a privilege for me to work with such a professional group of people. The RCE’s have demonstrated that they are goal-oriented and committed to professional development, as well as being committed to providing the latest and greatest in services to our members."
Cindy also recently won re-election as councilwoman for the city of Lenexa's Ward 4.
"It is with great honor that I was elected by the citizens of Lenexa for another four years!" Cindy said. "I look forward to serving them by being a good steward of their tax dollars and focusing on development and redevelopment, which provides additional funding to support the services important to the citizens of Lenexa."
Green said her experience on the Council has given her knowledge of how a city works and how legislation is passed - key areas in her position as KCRAR's Vice President for Government Affairs. Also, her established relationships with elected representatives in other Kansas cities is another benefit to her position at KCRAR.
Cindy has been on the Council since August 2004, when she was appointed by Mayor Mike Boehm to fill a vacancy. She ran for election in April 2005 unopposed.
