Wednesday, September 15
REALTORS® helping Harvesters: Community Outreach Event - hosted by the Show Me Region

KCRAR's Show Me Region and Harvesters have teamed up for an afternoon of volunteering! Donate your time on Wednesday, September 15 at the Harvesters Volunteer Outreach Center at 3801 Topping Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri 64129. We'll be there from 1:00-3:00 p.m.

In the Volunteer Outreach Center, we will sort and repackage food for the needy; it's a great place to make a difference in somebody's life. Our assignment will be given to us that afternoon based on their need. We may be packing backpacks, repackaging food, or organizing the pantry shelves. No muscles needed! Harvesters encourages volunteers to wear casual clothing (jeans, shorts, t-shirts). Open-toed shoes (including flip flops and sandals) are not allowed. While the VOC is heated and cooled, it is a warehouse environment that is not as warm or cool as a typical office or home.

Bring a FRIEND and bring some FOOD! The more volunteers, the merrier! Bring a non-perishable food donation when you come to volunteer ... or start a collection in your office.

This is our second volunteer event at Harvesters. We previously visited the Volunteer Outreach Center in February.

Make your reservation online here or send an e-mail to jenniferd@kcrar.com. Click here for a printable registration flier. We need to give a head count of our volunteers to Harvesters by Monday, September 13.

Saturday, September 25
Ride for the American Dream

Mark your calendars now and plan to join us for the inaugural “Ride for the American Dream,” a motorcycle ride benefiting the REALTORS® Political Action Committee! KCRAR is hosting three local motorcycle rides on Saturday, September 25, 2010, with the support of our area Harley-Davidson dealerships. Each of our local rides will consist of a 75-mile motorcycle ride/poker run with great prizes, good food, cold drinks, and lots of fun!

Not a motorcycle rider? You're still invited to attend the after-ride party! $10 gets you food and drink. This event is open to the public, so bring your friends! Locally, our goal is to raise $15,000 through our three rides and the participation of more than 300 REALTORS®.

For more information about the Ride, including registration forms, go here. Contact Cristalle Bozarth at 913-266-5908 or cristalleb@kcrar.com for more information.
