Training on the REALTOR® Code of Ethics must be completed by all REALTOR® members by December 31, 2004. This training has been mandated by NAR, and failure to complete the required training shall be considered a violation of a membership duty for which membership shall be suspended after 12/31/04.
There are many ways to fulfill the requirement, including four classes KCRAR has added in locations around the KC area. These classes will be taught by Debbie Strange, KCRAR’s Professional Standards Manager. The non-CE classes will be held in four locations (not at the KCRAR classroom), and they include a complimentary breakfast at 8:30 am followed by the class from 9:00-11:30 am. The schedule is:
October 25, 2004 (Registration deadline 10/20) Clarion Hotel Sports Complex (Formerly the Adams Mark Hotel) I-70 at the Sports Complex Kansas City, MO
October 28, 2004 (Registration deadline 10/25) Cabela’s – 2nd floor 10300 Cabela Drive (I-435 & State Ave.) Kansas City, KS
November 4, 2004 (Registration deadline 11/1) KCI Expo Center 10741 N. Ambassador Drive Kansas City, MO
November 15, 2004 (Registration deadline 11/9) Radisson Hotel Lenexa 12601 W. 95TH St. (I-35 & 95th Street) Lenexa, KS
These four classes, including breakfast, are free to those who register, but no-shows will be billed $10. The classes were announced earlier this month and they're filling up fast, so seating is very limited at some of the locations. As of September 14, the class to be held at the KCI Expo Center has the most openings, so please plan to attend that class if you can. You may click here to register online -- just look under "Register for Events."
Other options for the Code of Ethics training, including three new CE class dates, are:
An excellent online class being offered by NAR. This free self-paced course can be accessed at this link: http://www.realtor.org/mempolweb.nsf/pages/onlineethicstraining?OpenDocument. We highly recommend this course.
A CE class titled “Behave Yourself! The Code of Ethics.” Fran Cashion is the instructor for this class, and three more class sessions have been added to the course schedule. They’re on October 20, November 19 and December 16; all are from 9:00 am - Noon at the KCRAR Classroom.
Several non-CE classes being offered at the KCRAR Classroom. Debbie Strange, KCRAR Professional Standards Manager, will be the instructor for these classes to be held October 7 (this class is already full), November 9, November 11, December 1 and December 14.
Enrollment is available online for any of these classes that will be held in the KCRAR classroom, just click here and then look under on “Education Calendar and Registration.” The enrollment form from the back of the KCRAR Course Catalog can also be used to register for the classes to be held at KCRAR.
Some real estate schools are offering the class, and some state-level classes are being offered through MAR and KAR.
