Mike Phillips, Broker/Owner of Century 21 All-Pro in Parkville, Mo., has been recognized by The Wall Street Journal as the No. 1 real estate agent in the country by transaction sides! Mike had 1,148 transaction sides in 2008.
About half of Century 21 All-Pro's business comes from foreclosures and REOs, Mike said.
"While I was trying to build the REO side up, we found several opportunities from around the country that had an impact on us," he said. "Some was from networking, some was dumb luck maybe. The asset managers liked our story and our past performances backed us up. So I went on a run."
What advice does the No. 1 real estate agent in the country have for other REALTORS®?
"If you want to reach a high level of success and you are willing to do whatever is needed to reach that goal, do it in balance with your personal life," Mike said. "Being No. 1 is no fun if you are alone. Take your family, friends, co-workers and pets along for the ride. They say success is a journey, not a final destination, and I believe that."
Mike also teaches KCRAR's Continuing Education class on selling foreclosures.
Other KCRAR members were recognized by The Wall Street Journal, too! Ellen Brewood, Realty Executives of Kansas City in Leawood, Kan., made the same Top 100 Agents by Transaction Sides list in the No. 26 spot, with 296 transaction sides.
The Wall Street Journal also ranked the country's Top 100 Teams by Transaction Sides, and the Koehler Bortnick Team, LLC, Reece and Nichols, landed at No. 31 on the list with 380 sides.
Congratulations to everyone on the list for their hard work!
