Lee McClelland of Overland Park has been selected for the 2009 NAR Leadership Academy.  Lee is an Associate Broker with Tinkler Partners, Inc., of Prudential Kansas City Realty. Lee’s designations include ABR and e-Pro.

Lee is active at all three levels of the Association. He serves on the NAR Housing Needs Committee.  He is a graduate of the KAR Right Track Leadership program, and serves on the KAR Governmental Affairs Committee; Good Neighbor Task Force; and KAR Board of Directors.

He’s also extremely active at KCRAR as a member of the Board of Directors for KCRAR and Heartland MLS, Chair of the Kansas Government Affairs, Sunflower Region Chair and Chair of Rules and Regulations.

If you would like to congratulate Lee, his email address is: lee@kchomesellers.com.

Lee told John McKenzie last year during the KAR Right Track Leadership Program that his goal was to be the NAR President. And this is a great first step for him!

Here’s what NAR President Dick Gaylord had to say about the NAR Leadership Academy (from his blog), and feel free to click on the links for further information on the program:

“I often get asked what REALTORS® can do to move up to a national leadership position. In the ‘old’ days, if you didn’t already know someone in a national leadership position, it was hard to break into the upper levels of the organization.

That all changed last year when NAR launched our new Leadership Academy. Now, your state and local experience is your key to the national leadership network. The Leadership Academy gives you nine months of hands-on experience at the national level. And, I can tell you that we on the Leadership Team meet and get to know members of the Leadership Academy, and we do put them on our list to fill prominent positions on national committees. We need new ideas and voices to carry us into our Second Century!”Dick Gaylord, 2008 NAR President
