When it comes to identifying yourself publicly via signage and other marketing, it’s important to be current and accurate.  After all, you want to identify with the REALTOR® marketing messages.

To help with this, the National Association of REALTORS® now offers banners as part of the Public Awareness Campaign.  You can easily download them to use as part of your email signature.  For how-to’s about downloading these banners, click here.

In this year's local Public Awareness Campaign, KCRAR will promote the newly-passed first-time home buyer tax credit, and the incentive it brings to contact a REALTOR®.  This will be a central message in the KCRAR Campaign this spring and summer.  An ad will appear for the first time in the Sunday Real Estate section of The Kansas City Star on March 1.  A column by Chris Collins, ABR, CRS, GRI, 2009 KCRAR President, will appear on the cover of the Saturday Real Estate section in The Star on March 14.  And additional print and online placements are being planned now.  So stay tuned for more!

And as always, using correct logos, names and affiliations is basic to presenting a clear and consistent message to consumers.  One thing some KCRAR members have noticed recently is that the out-dated term “Board of REALTORS®” is being used on some fliers or business cards.   For public consistency, the correct identification is “Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS®.”

So make it easy for the public to understand your marketing message – check your signs, website, flier boxes, business cards, ads and any other marketing materials to ensure they display accurate information. Use the REALTOR® “R” logo on your materials and wear your lapel pin – it’s a great way to reap the benefits of millions of dollars of branding and awareness campaigns!
