Marshall Stapleton was an honored guest at the KCRAR Board of Directors meeting on December 4, 2009 when he received the REALTOR® Emeritus Award from KCRAR President Chris Collins. Marshall received a certificate from NAR and a lapel pin to commemorate the special occasion.
Becoming a REALTOR® Emeritus requires 40 continuous year of membership in a REALTOR® Association. Marshall, a manager with Coldwell Banker John Moffitt, became a member of the Eastern Jackson County Board of REALTORS® when he joined the real estate business in 1969.
“It doesn’t seem like it’s been 40 years,” Marshall said. “When you last this long in the industry, you don’t do it by yourself. You do it with a lot of cooperative people in the real estate world.”
Marshall currently serves on the KCRAR Board of Directors as an At-large Director elected in 2008. He also served as president of the Eastern Jackson County Board in 1979.
“You have to put back in what you believe in,” Marshall said. “I was never prouder and felt a greater sense of accomplishment among other REALTORS® than I did when I was installed as President. I have been active both on the local and state level ever since. I have met and have the greatest friends from my association with the real estate community.
“The fact that there’s been so many changes in our industry has continued to open up opportunities in real estate for me. I’ve had a real good rapport with most REALTORS®, and it’s the people in the business who have helped me survive this long, the people who have survived with me.”
Congratulations to Marshall for his long successful career and this honor!
