Public Awareness Campaign Update

Additional print media outlets have been added to the local Public Awareness Campaign to complement the national campaign’s TV and radio schedule.

You may have seen the KCRAR ad promoting the $8,000 first-time homebuyer tax credit in kchomes Magazine last week. This ad will continue running in June. After that, kchomes Magazine will run the ad at no charge on a space-available basis and we have Ben Warner and our Affiliate Member Bonnie Boyles to thank for that!

The message about the $8,000 tax credit is also the topic of most of our ads planned for The Kansas City Star and other newspapers.  Newly added to that group is the Welcome Home section that's circulated in The Independence and Blue Springs Examiners.

An ad schedule has also begun in Kansas City Homes & Gardens Magazine. Our ad advising consumers “Don’t rely on guesses or vague news reports. Get the facts.” will appear in the special mortgage guide section of the July edition. This ad touts the expertise and local knowledge of KCRAR members.

Advertising is continuing, as previously announced, in the Kansas City Star, ink, several suburban newspapers and online on kansascity.com and inkkc.com. The heaviest concentration of ads has been grouped in the spring and will continue into summer.

We’ll also continue the monthly columns authored by KCRAR President Chris Collins in the Star’s Saturday real estate section. Look for the next one, “
Homeownership Helps Secure Our Future,” next Saturday on May 30. It’s a great REALTOR® message pointing out the many benefits all of us reap from living in a society where homeownership is highly valued.

June brings the heaviest NAR TV schedule of the year as the spring market appears to be responding well to financial incentives and conditions. To see the national media schedule, including the primetime TV plan which includes commercials in programs such as Extreme Makeover Home Edition, America’s Funniest Videos, Cold Case and CSI: Miami, click the Public Awareness Campaign link on www.realtor.org.
