KCRAR's Show Me Region and Harvesters have teamed up for an afternoon of volunteering! Donate your time on Wednesday, September 15 at the Harvesters Volunteer Outreach Center at 3801 Topping Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri 64129. We'll be there from 1:00-3:00 p.m.

In the Volunteer Outreach Center, we will sort and repackage food for the needy; it's a great place to make a difference in somebody's life. Our assignment will be given to us that afternoon based on their need. We may be packing backpacks, repackaging food, or organizing the pantry shelves. No muscles needed! Harvesters encourages volunteers to wear casual clothing (jeans, shorts, t-shirts). Open-toed shoes (including flip flops and sandals) are not allowed. While the VOC is heated and cooled, it is a warehouse environment that is not as warm or cool as a typical office or home.

Bring a FRIEND and bring some FOOD! The more volunteers, the merrier! Bring a non-perishable food donation when you come to volunteer ... or start a collection in your office. This is our second volunteer event at Harvesters. We previously visited the Volunteer Outreach Center in February.
