Do you know that the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) saved the average REALTOR® over $6,800 in 2009? These savings come from RPAC protecting YOUR business and YOUR investment in real estate from onerous legislation and unfair taxes!
In order to continue promoting and protecting your business, RPAC needs your office to strengthen its support and investment. The RPAC 100% Participation Office Program is another great way for you to invest in RPAC - and get some recognition while you're at it.
Here’s the scoop:
- If you are interested in participating, you must register your office by contacting Cristalle Bozarth at 913-266-5908 or cristalleb@kcrar.com. Anyone in the office can register - including brokers, managers and associates - but only one person per office, please. SIGN UP BY MAY 7, 2010 TO PARTICIPATE.
- You will be given a list of all members in your office, along with the RPAC dollars they have contributed in 2010 and RPAC promotional materials. (Hint: It might be a good idea to designate one staffer per office to both register and distribute the promotional materials.)
- Then, ask your co-workers to invest in RPAC, working toward 100% office participation. (EVERYONE in the office can motivate each other to hit the 100% participation goal!)
- RPAC Participation is defined as $25 fair share contribution, so everyone in your office needs to contribute fair share or above to be counted.
- On Sept. 1, 2010, all registered offices will be reviewed for 100% participation. Offices that have achieved this level will be:
1. Acknowledged in an upcoming issue of KCRAR’s Realeyes and Realeyes Online Update newsletters.
2. Entered into a drawing for a complimentary breakfast in their offices.
For more information, contact Cristalle Bozarth, Community Outreach and Government Affairs Manager, at cristalleb@kcrar.com or 913-266-5908.
Contributions are not deductible for income tax purposes. Contributions to RPAC are voluntary and are used for political purposes. You may refuse to contribute without reprisal and the National Association of REALTORS® or any of its state associations or local boards will not favor or disfavor any member because of the amount contributed. 70% of each contribution is used by your state PAC to support state and local political candidates. Until your state PAC reaches its RPAC goal 30% is sent to National RPAC to support federal candidates and is charged against your limits under 2 U.S.C. 441a; after the state PAC reaches its RPAC goal it may elect to retain your entire contribution for use in supporting state and local candidates.
