Do you know that the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) saved the average REALTOR® over $6,000 in 2008?  These savings come from RPAC protecting your business and your investment in real estate from onerous legislation and unfair taxes!

In order to continue promoting and protecting your business, RPAC needs your continued investment in 2009.  Your investment will help to ensure that REALTORS® don’t carry the financial burden of more taxes on the real estate industry, that you don’t face a time when the mortgage interest deduction is obsolete, or banks are invading your business.

Please take a moment to take advantage of one of the ways KCRAR has established for you to contribute to RPAC, including our online contribution program which you can easily access by visiting www.kcrar.com, logging in as a member, and clicking on contributions.  This is a quick and easy way to make your RPAC investment!

Additionally, KCRAR is also promoting the RPAC Pledge program which allows members to choose the level of contribution they would like to reach.  The member then contributes throughout the year at events such as region/state auctions, and they are billed for the balance of the contribution level they have chosen.

For example: REALTOR® 1 fills out a pledge card to contribute $500 to RPAC.  At various RPAC auctions he or she gives a total of $429.  On September 1st, REALTOR® 1 is billed $71 to fulfill the remaining balance of their pledge!  This is a simple way to ensure that you reach the contribution level that you want.

To make your Pledge today, click here for an RPAC Pledge card and fax it to Cristalle Bozarth at 913-498-1110.

Contributions to RPAC are voluntary and used for political purposes. You may refuse to contribute without affecting your membership rights. 70% of each contribution is used by RPAC to support state and local political candidates. 30% of each contribution is sent to national RPAC. Of that amount, 90% is used by national RPAC to support federal candidates and is charged against your limits under 2 U.S.C. 441a, while the remaining 10% is used for other federal grassroots political activities.   Contributions are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.
